What do you think are the best Java for beginners resources ? As a newbie Java developer, I'm looking for easy to learn Java books, tutorials and maybe even high quality Java for beginners videos programs.

EDIT: Thanks for all the suggestions..

Based on your responses, I've decided to get Joshua Bloch's Effective Java 2nd edition. Here is a link to the suggested book:

I'd recommend Core Java Volume 1 and 2 by Cay S. Horstmann and Gary Cornell.Tthey're pretty good books.

Thinking in Java is a great book for folks new to Java. I think it covers just the right amount of philosophy, and has a really great pace.

Kathy Sierra's Head First Java has proven to be the best resource for the newbies I've mentored.

I would suggest you to start from Thinking in Java by Bruce Eckel.. it's a good book for beginners and the third edition is also free to download by one of the mirrors here.
