Hey all. I was wondering what would be a good introduction book for someone looking to become familiar with the programming languages that would be used with WSS 3.0? I am a developer that will be working with customization of the SharePoint platform and was looking to better myself in my career. Thanks.

A:

I picked up Professional SharePoint 2007 Development this weekend and have found it to be a good resource so far.

It doesn't matter which language you use as long as its .NET. The most popular for SharePoint development seems to be C#.

The most commonly recommended book on Stack Overflow tends to be Inside Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. It's a great resource.

For more help, see this previous question: Where should I start if I have to get into Sharepoint?.
