I have some code and it crashes upon execution, what seems to be wrong?

            Application.Exit()
        End If
    End Sub
End Class

As soon as it starts it crashes, I don't get it

Thanks

There could literally be a hundred reasons why this code is crashing.

First, consider changing this from the Form_Load event to be executed off of a button on the form or something, just to isolate your application's startup from this Windows Media Encoder job startup.

Then set breakpoints throughout the code, and find out how far it gets. Also, when you say it "Crashes", what does that mean? If Windows Media Converter or any other general DirectX components throw an error, there's usually an error number/code associated with it. Do you get an error?

Finally, is your code actually reaching Encoder.Start() ?

When I turn on start debugging, it just crashes vshost so I cannot really provide lines sorry

just add Debug.Print statements in your code then they will give you a clear idea of how far you get. There's always a means you figuring out the line that errs if you're willing to work for the solution

Usually this will be because your references are old or not the right ones for your OS. So maybe you are on 64 bit Vista and your referenced DLL's are 16 bit? That kind of thing.
