Hi everyone!!!!!!!

  • What is a good book on Pi-calculus, which will give an idea of practical problems?
  • Can you suggest some new technologies in Pi-calculus to learn?

Thank you.

One of the creators wrote a book that I have yet to read. There is a pi-calculus FAQ (pdf) that I found a useful introduction, with a bibliography.

How familiar are you with lambda calculus? In many ways it is simpler, and it is worth tackling first.

You can find an interesting and very approachable explanation of the π-Calculus by Prof. Matthew Hennessy in "A Distributed Pi-Calculus" (from e.g. Amazon). It will also show you the Distributed version - for multi-site computation (migratory processes etc), which is an interesting technical extension you might not have seen.

If you want to ask a question, don't put it in an answerbut start a new thread for it.The "Ask Question" button is in the top right of this page.More people would see your question and try to answer that way.Make sure to exactly describe the problem you have (error messages,...) else nobody will be able to help.
