Yesterday, I have submitted an iPhone app to Apple through itunesconnect.apple.com. It is my second app, so after submission, it appeared as second in a list. The first in the list was my first app, with the app icon having rounded corners. My new app, however, had straight corners, just like the icon file that I delivered with the app. (you are supposed to deliver a square icon; apple will do the rounding and the glossy stuff for you.) Today, I checked if my app was accepted yet (ha! if even). To my surprise, the Upper Two corners of my app were rounded, while the lower ones are square! Also, the shine was added now. See here for a screen shot. What does this mean? Is this a progress indicator? If so, what does each corner mean?

No, you're not going crazy. At least not yet :-)...

iTunesConnect has always had this issue with displaying 512x512 icon's of applications in strange manners (some have rounded corners, others don't) in the management part of iTunesConnect.

Apple will respect your submission of whatever settings you include within your application. Whether or not the image includes "shine" or not. All app images will be rounded (App Store and on the iPhone/iPod Touch). As far as the image not being rounded or it being rounded in the iTunesConnect management. I wouldn't worry about it.

And no, it does not indicate the status of your application. If you want to see the status or approval process of your application click on the "Status History" link under the management selection of your application.

Hope this information helps... or at least keep you sane for a bit longer :-)

Congrats on your second application, and welcome to the stackoverflow community.
