I would like to have a select element in the form but besides the options in the dropdown, it would be useful to be able to edit it and add new option but not with another input text, I need all in once. Is it possible?

I've heard about the Dropdown Combo Box plugin, but never tried it.
It seems to meet your needs though.

there are quite a few javascript based solutions out there ... i love the Ext.form.ComboBox implementation in extjs, but of course there are loads of alternative and lightweight solutions for mootools and jquery out there - just google around :)
