Hello,

I'm using the free version of wingIDE. I am trying to customize individual syntax highlighting colors (comments, strings, constants, normal text, etc). I see the generic color changes for 'background, selected text", etc, but nothing that lets me get down to specifics. Is this a limitation of the free version or is the option hidden deep in the UI? Thanks.

In the full version what you need is in Preferences->User Interface->Colors->Syntax Formatting.

That's the same place as the background and selected text colour selection, so I'd guess it really is missing from the free version. I'm using the latest Professional version (3.2.4) and I've changed my syntax highlighting (got rid of all the bold!)

I'm surprised it isn't in the free version...

Oh how I wish I was wrong about this. Kudos, wingIDE. Providing me with all the cool and useful features of your program while mentally harassing me with your ugly default color schemes is perhaps the ultimate motivation to buy your product.

If you can convince them that you're using it only for open source development then they'll give you a copy for free :). Just click the 'Open Source' discount button when you go to buy it.

should I be hiding that comment :D
