Does anyone know of an Objective-C framework that takes care of registering an app? I'm interested in the GUI/30-day trial side more than the actual verifying of serial numbers.

AquaticPrime (free, license management only)

eSellerate (license management + e-commerce provider, they take a percentage)

The currently maintained version of Aquatic Prime is at http://github.com/bdrister/AquaticPrime. The code at aquaticmac.com is out of date and has some bugs.

Thanks for the update. I did a quick Google search and, as a free Google Assistant, my work is sometimes not very thorough. ;-)

I've seen both of those, but I was looking more for a GUI side. Does anyone know if either of those provides a trial or GUI interface? @Rob thanks for the new link. I hadn't seen that.

No, both of these solutions requires you to build your own "nag screen," as people like to call them. They're not difficult at all. Just a "register/buy/try" button set and an explanation of the limitations.

Do you have any idea of where I should store the number of days that the trial has left?
Adrian Sarli
One place is as good as the next in terms of security. Users smart enough to look for the stored location are smart enough to find it. If you feel putting it in the preferences is too easy, maybe you can put it in a file in a "~/Library/Application Support/My Company/My App/" folder.

It might be a bit more comprehensive than you want, but I believe that Golden Braeburn provides such a GUI.
