Firstly I try to create a shopcart with CodIgniter but I need to build a lot of moodle. Because the time has come, I think I'll find another CMS to implement this shop cart and I'll take time build with CodeIgniter later ( I love it ). Someone suggest me one ?

Thanks a lot :)

Joomla has one of the worst ecommerce applications I've seen (Virtuemart). I don't understand why the Joomla community keep promoting it.

Try Ubercart for Drupal. It's got commercial backing and good community support which are two big factors for choosing an Open Source project.

Can you elaborate on this? Why do you think VirtueMart is so bad? If you can share some concrete evidence for this claim, it would be very helpful.

Last time I worked on Virtuemart I found Joomla code duplication (large chunks line for line), presentation layer is mixed in with business logic and generally sloppy work. I'm sorry I can't point to exact code examples (you should be able to find them with a cursory glance at the source) but I did find this review which is fairly accurate. Just avoid Virtuemart. It's a liability. See here: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/e-commerce/shopping-cart/129#rev-73036

I've had great luck with Magento for shopping cart / ecommerce use.
