I've been looking all over http://android.git.kernel.org for Genie Widget code but unfortunately there's no top level search and lot of GITs to go through. If someone can point me to the right location I would really appreciate it. The Genie Widget is also known as News & Weather

P.S. According to good folks from Android Developer forum this widget's source is not available plus they hinted that implementation is also subpar

It is indeed proprietary. The source to the Open Source bits of Android (the AOSP) 2.1 has been up for quite a while now...

I don't really care if it's 2.1 or 2.0. Obviously cyanogen got it somewhere and I've seen it recompiled for 1.6 and even 1.5. I don't think it was reverse engineered from bytecode so the question remains - where can I get copy of the sources?Oh - I wish Roman Guy would share his wisdom :)

thanks @vmlinuz - that really sucks since it has the functionality I want and I was hoping to use it as reference implementation
