I've been using HTMLAREA for quite sometime, but it's so iffy, I think it is time to change. Suggestions welcome

my favorite is http://ckeditor.com/. I hated FCK but CK is really good now. if you are looking for a simpler one check: http://code.google.com/p/jwysiwyg/ both are generating w3c source.

Wow ck editor is quite good, I hated fck editor as well when I checked it out. It looks like CKEditor has an $850 commercial license though O_O. TinyMCE looks good too, but the MCImageManager you got to pay for as well

I have opted for TinyMCE, http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/examples/full.php with plugin http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2844769&group_id=103281&atid=738747 for the image uploads
both of which are free to use so I'm happy
