When I was learning Visual Basic.net 2008 I found a book that not only taught the basics but by the end of the book I had developed a fully working database application. Does anyone know where I might find a simular book but using Visual C++?

When it comes to explaining the basics of a language, I like the Deitel books and there is a recently updated version of "C++ How to Program, 7/e." It contains a full case study as well. I haven't read this particular book, but have read several other of the Deitel books and found them to be very thorough and clear. They are a little verbose if you are already familiar with the subject matter, but great for learning the basics and more.
