I'm interested in a list of publicly available programming exams which can be taken online. E.g. Brainbench offers a broad range of tests and certifications (including .NET technologies). ExpertRating is an option as well. Any similar services? I'm also interested knowing if there are any Microsoft exams available online.

Thanks guys for sharing your knowledge! :)

Keneva Prove It Exams http://proveit.com

I had to take a couple when interviewing with a major consulting company early this year.

  • .NET Programming ASP 3.5
  • .NET Programming C# 3.0

They're similar to the brainbench exams.

Edit:

They can't really prove who's taking the test and what help you get unless they make you take it at their office. They emailed me a sessionid and instructions which says that I'm not allowed to use reference materials or other assistance.

The time it takes for you to complete each question is part of the results. If you take too long on the questions, they may think you're cheating.

How do they verify that it's actually you taking the test? Or you do not have Google or MSDN running in the background?

if you complete exam that they can prove that you are a Certified .NET OR JAVA Developer ? HA! HA! HA!

Those tests are usually configured to make difficult using reference materials, focusing on practical knowledge. But no website can verify whether it's you who actually takes the test.

@ sphynx right my thing is take test own-self is a good way otherwise say to your guru and teacher who teach you then they take a test and give you a progress report.
