I recently had some HD issues and had to get a new one. I transferred over my data using Migration Assistant on my freshly imaged disk. Then with but a minute left until I was in the clear, there is a town wide power outage. I was at work and had no backup generator and the university's didn't source the outlets, so my transfer was stopped cold... I then used Carbon Copy Cloner to get the data over instead of the former method, and all seemed to be fine - until I opened up a terminal that is... Now a select bunch of my compilers/programs work. GCC wasn't even in my PATH anymore, g95 or gfortran didn't work for me, gnuplot no longer runs. etc. I tried to reinstall gnuplot and the configure script log said that it could't find . Let me say that I swear by CCloner and I don't blame that program. But perhaps just my libraries and command-line executables got screwed with? I'm fairly adept at taking advantage of the power of the terminal, but somewhat of a rookie when it comes to troubleshooting related problems. (An issue that I acknowledge and am striving to resolve.) I would appreciate any direction anyone can provide; after fruitless googling, I am a bit at a loss.
