Hi guys,

I'm a UNIX shell script programmer, and I would like to know if there is any certification specific for Shell (bash, korn, etc) programmers. Could you help please?

Also how about CX-310-105 exam to take Oracle Solaris Associate, does it have value on the market?

Thanks

I've never seen a shell scripting cert, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Around here (northern Ohio) certification doesn't seem to mean much - it won't hurt, but demonstrated skills are what employers are looking for. If an employer is looking for someone with shell scripting skills they'll probably ask you to write a small script to do something. If, on the other hand, a candidate has a million certifications but no documented experience I doubt they'd get an interview.

Share and enjoy.
