I need something fast to connect to my Mac from my Vista machine. Built in Screen Sharing does not work with any VNC client, and Vine Server is very slow.

Is there anything for the Mac that reaches the performance of Windows Terminal Services?

I use CoRD and love it.

Connect to Mac from Windows, not the other way around.

Question wasn't formed overly well.

I use LogMeIn and it works great with IE, screen updates are nice and fast. They have a free version and some pay ones that give you more functionality.

I use logmein as well, works well. It's not ideal but what else works on both windows and mac seamlessly, and bypasses all firewalls out of the box?

Not many that I can think of. LogMeIn is definitely designed to keep things simple for the user.

Try also TeamViewer. That works across platforms nicely.

And free for personal use :)

Now that I remember I used to use Timbuktu. It's quite fast and it's multi-platform (Win to Mac and vice versa) - I'd definately recommend giving it a go: http://www.netopia.com/software/products/tb2/

I use UltraVNC from Windows with the built-in Screen Sharing and it works fine. You just need to setup the right port forwarding on the firewall (5500 is the default for VNC).

I was able to get the native Mac screen sharing to work with RealVNC on Windows by setting the Colour Level to Full and forcing it to use protocol version 3.3. It's not perfect (I get kicked out during logins and have to reconnect) but it works.

On the Mac I use JollyFastVNC. It seems to work well, but I should say that I don't need to use it all that much.

If you want something based on Terminal Services, there's the Remote Desktop client for Mac here, which is pretty nice, but it messes up my keyboard (it's a PT layout).

I tend to use CoRD most of the time because of the keyboard issues I have with RDC.
