Is there a service, similar to uservoice.com for bug reports?

It should

  • very easy to use for normal, non-techie users
  • be free
  • be easily maintainable

http://lighthouseapp.com/ does what you want. It's used by Github and a bunch of other sites. Although I think you might need to pay for the more advanced features.

I've seen Getsatisfaction used a few times and liked it from a user-POV

I second this. I think it doesn't get any easier. The problem is though that bug reporting easyness in terms for the end user is by no means convenient for the people dealing with the bugs. ;)

Seems like they have a pretty dodgy business model: http://www.37signals.com/svn/posts/1650-get-satisfaction-or-else

I have used www.bughost.com This maybe a little too techie for what you want and is more focused on bug tracking than user comments. We used it for managing internal and external (regular non-programmer) beta testers. I think you can use a limited version for free, and pay for more functionality/more users.

Perhaps this is obvious but it's worth clarifying, User Voice is hardly free. It's free only for limited features and 500 votes, then $12/mo - so $144 per year minimum. I find it very expensive for such discreet functionality.

now it's even more expensive.
