i moved some files from my c drive to my d drive and my windows will not open now.

How do i fixes this? I dont have anything important on my notebook.

should I Perform a reinstall from a Microsoft retail or OEM Windows disc?

Assuming you are already committed to a reinstall, the OEM disk that came with your notebook might have the drivers specific to the hardware which could simplify the reinstall. I hear many notebooks keep a partition just for recovery purposes which might be available to you from that disk also (mine did) so it might be worth looking into that; you could possibly save some time if it does. Good luck!

Once you get everything back in order I recommend running as a non-administrator to prevent this accident from happening so easily (helps reduce other problems too, such as virus risks).
