Thanks for the response - I am really just looking for some simple forum software to host with my application preferrably in ASP.NET MVC ?

Anyone know of any simple ASP.NET MVC forum software ? Similar to something like vanilla - http://getvanilla.com/ - but written in MVC ?

vanilla is very impressive

Telerik has mvc based forums.

Source code is available.

Another user, splattne, originally linked to those in the Telerik controls in ASP.NET MVC post.

We are working on it. It is called SubForum. It is going to be a ASP.NET MVC forum with Web 2.0 features and easy look and feel simlar to what StackOverflow has. We are also looking for developers. So anyone who wants to contribute can come join us at http://www.subforum.net

I was looking for the same thing a little while back. I couldn't find anything so I built my own. You can check it out here (including full source)...

UPDATE: OpenForum is now on CodePlex. http://openforum.codeplex.com/

No offence, but this is very basic - you can't really compare it to something like vanilla forums (http://getvanilla.com/) which he quoted as an example (in a answer). It's great that you're making this available - but it's always depressing to see how far behind the php lot we (asp.net/mvc etc.) are with our open source projects.

@UpTheCreek No offense taken :). I'd love to to see some additional contributors help turn OpenForum into something better then it is today.

@herbtandson - It would be great if development continues :) good luck!

If you want to mix Asp.Net MVC and Azure, try this open source Forum (similar to stackoverflow): http://azurebright.codeplex.com/

You should take a look at Yet Another Forum, which is a ASP.NET C# software. For more information, you should consult the Yet Another Forum Review.

this forum isn't in MVC

It's just a name at this point, but MVCForum is another project "in the works"
