I am a final year MS Student and want to do a major project in computer science (preferred langauge is C++)

Can you please share project ideas and related pointer for same...?

If some one has already done some project and would like to enhance that by collaborative work...do let me know....

You can 'google summer of code' pages for ideas.

Open source projects are always looking for good developers and you can learn a lot by studying and existing code and talking with other developers.

It really would help if you could name some of your interests so we could direct you in a more concrete way. Saying you would like to work on a C++ project doesn't give us any clues about how you like to spend your time. Unless you mean you would like to work on a C++ compiler...in which case I would get in touch with the gcc team pronto.

There a literally hundreds of thousands of open source projects with feature wish lists just waiting to be implemented by a motivated individual, and it's also a great way to get experience and connect with a community.

Do you have an advisor? Talking to her or to another professor is probably your best bet. I've found that things go easier in grad school if you are working on something that aligns with the interests of a professor, unless you have strong interests of your own.
