I am working on a barcode application for reading commercial products. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a database containing commercial barcodes and their associated products that I could purchase?
As an example: I would like to be able to scan in the barcode from a candy bar and query a database to retrieve the name of the candy bar.
I've done some searching online but haven't had any success and was wondering if anyone has heard of just such a database.
I'm posting this as a community wiki since it is not directly programming related, but it is a component of a program.
