Several of our developers have the stand alone Team Explorer 2008 installed and the Ver 2.3 TFS Power Tools installed on Windows XP. One developer's machine produces an error whenever we try to install the TFS Power Tools. The error is:
Error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
I have looked at this forum post: Error 1721 when Installing Power Tools
The 'devenv.exe /setup' command seems to be the problem but we are able to execute it manually just fine. We are also able to install a different add-on that runs that command as part of the install.
How can I get past this to install the TFS Power Tools? Is there a way to get it to drop the files without running 'devenv.exe /setup'?
