What do you consider the most valuable information sources(news, blogs, and books) for fresh (and wannabe) startup founders?
You definitely should read everything Paul Graham did write about this:
His company Y Combinator is funding tech startups, and he has written a lot of good articles about startups: what they need, what mistakes to avoid, what to learn.
The answer really depends on which field of programming you aim into. For each startup I would recommend to select something which they can excel at, and which is of some value for some customers ... and then make sure they really excel at it. The information sources selection then depends on this "area of excellence".
Besides of programming sources, be sure to get at least basic understanding of the other real life stuff you will need to handle (accounting, management, economy basics).
Meta-answer: if you don't know what's important to your business, don't found a start-up.
Read Robert Scoble's Rules for Successfully Scaling Startups and Diary of a Failed Startup for some insightful tips.
Most notably ... hire the right people, and get rid of idiots quickly.
and, as mentioned, Paul Graham's site rocks for this stuff, be sure to check out the David Heinemeier Hannson video at startup school for some inspiration.
