Accessing central database server

Question

I have a frend who has a company with 6 satellite offices. He wants to install an ERP software in his main office( central database) and will let the satellite office access the ERP application through terminal services. My questions are..

1. Is this possible with the current remote terminal service application by microsoft?

2. Is there a need for my frend to buy CAL licenses for every user inorder to access the central database server?

I am having problems as to how will i help him.Can anyone help me on this out there.

IMO, the answer is yes for both questions.

But, the ERP doesn't have a web interface? In this case TS wouldn't be necessary (and, as such, TS CALs).
