Long time ago, there was a possibility to pass a Delphi exam and gain some Delphi certification (like MCP). Is there any chance to pass such an exam now? Is some certification authority issuing such certifications?

While being MCP and MCSD it would be nice to have a proof of my knowledge in Delphi world…

CodeGear has a list of product certifications and courses listed here. Certifications include Delphi 2007, but not 2009, so I'm not sure how current they are, but they list a direct e-mail for questions: [email protected]

Quite strange policy, it looks like they simply want to discourage us from taking the exam...

Where on that page did you see anything that looked like discouragement? I didn't. It just looks like it hasn't been updated for D2009; perhaps that's because they've been busy trying to improve the documentation and rewrite the compiler, as well as finishing up D2010.

@Ken White: „E mail us and we will tell you if there is testing center near you”. If they had a lot of testing centers, they wouldn’t write something like this. Also not updating exams when 2009 was introduced seems like they do not care. Yes, I do compare this to Microsoft’s MCP – and CodeGear ‘s certification looks pale. This is discouraging for me.

The Brainbench site has certification for Delphi, although it appears that they haven't updated any of the tests since Delphi 6.

It has long Embarcadero / CodeGear does not provide new information on the certification, but here are a few study guides that you can serve as reference and preparation.

I think they should be more open with certifications like MS, for example you can't join any exam if there's not an exam center near you, they should have an agreements with testing centers like VUE and Prometric as most of companies do.

Also they don't have official Certifications Guide for preparing the exams, instead you have to write here and there from other books to prepare for it.

MS, Oracle and others doing very good in this field, but CodeGear didn't come to any thing compared to them, they should try attract many people to have their certifications.
