What are the alternatives to using sub-report in Jasperreport?

What are the alternatives to using sub-report in JasperReport?

Sub-report is causing too much problem for me. I basically have a Collection of Maps that contains List or more collection of maps. It would be great if I can print out the report of the "childs" collections without using sub-report.
