Can you share with me the very best example you have ever seen of a web application that is using skins, themes and CSS in near-perfect harmony? I'm talking best in show. I'm talking about the application that you wish you could be when you grow up. I'm also talking about an application that is real-world and not just a facade.

It is a tall order I know, but you have seen something out there that you think is HOT. Please share it with me. I'm learning best practices and it seems complicated to me to know when a UI definition should go in the CSS vs .skin. I want to see someone's fine work to have as a true north.

Just to clarify, I'm looking for ASP.NET applications that are using Themes, Skins and CSS.

Thanks in advance

easy: CssZenGarden.

+1 - Good recommendation, that is a great site.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that is not a ASP.NET application. I guess my original question wasn't clear on underlying requirement.

This doesn't use themes or skins, just CSS (hence the name) -1

For a web application, what is a theme or a skin, if not what CssZenGarden shows you? Click on those links at the side to see how it transforms the same HTML page.

CssZenGarden is a wonderful example of using a CSS to drive the appearance of a HTML-based web site, but it does not utilize the ASP.NET technologies of Skins and Themes. I appreciate your answer, but it doesn't answer the real question. I actually am using the fore mentioned site, but I want to see how .NET developers do it.

ah, sorry. I thought you wanted themes and skins; not Microsoft Themes and Skins. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ykzx33wh.aspx
