Hi there,

Is there any control around where I can have something like Flex OLAP Data Grid for Silverlight?

I tried to create one on my own, but hitting the wall all the time, if there aren't something like this in the market, can we brainstorm a bit on how to approach creating a control like this?

Thanks

I cannot point you to some control that already does this, however, I found an article that discusses how to create a datasource on the fly, which can be extended to use linq queries (this can replace the OLAP queries). It is a bit of a read, with some complicated code, but have a read.

If this does not work, maybe you can give us more details as to how dynamic the data grid should be.

You might want to check this product: link text

What they call RIA OLAP Grid is actually a Silverlight Grid supported by ASP.NET on the server side.

I have not tested it myself besides their online demo which did hang up on me after a few minutes of testing. But as far as I know they have no competition yet so let's hope it is more stable than my first experience indicates.

You might also check the VIBlend OLAP Data Grid for Silverlight

I have tested it and it looks quite interesting.
