Hi,

We have 56-bit DES encrypted images online. We need to submit iphone app that loads these images and decrypts them.

From different forums and Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) site, I came to know that our application qualifies for NLR and we need to notify BIS. But, app submission wizard from apple doesn't require anything. i.e. My answer to 3rd question on this http://www.zetetic.net/page%5Fattachments/0000/0404/apple-ccats.png screen is NO so fourth question and the choose file section below it do not appear to me. So I don't see any file upload button neither the notice at the end.

So I just need to know:

1) Is it really required to submit notice to BIS 2) If it is really required to submit notice to BIS as it is written on its website, why apple wizard is not taking any input (no file upload) for such notices (with answer NO to 3rd question)? 3) If I just follow the apple wizard and don't submit any notifications, does this mean that Apple accepts the application assuming that it is still our responsibility to check for legal compliance ourselves?

Best regards,

Ali
