We programmers generally need to work for long continuous hours, which turns our brain battery down. What things you do to keep your brain fresh and concentrated?

Red Bull. 'nuff said.

Just to note - I use it really rarely (a few times per year at most), and try not to get into situations that require long hours.

Sleep, go to bed early and wake up an hour later or spend a day doing related tasks, not on the computer.

Also, take breaks, if you really want to do lots of hours, get up early and start work (eg 4:00am) do a couple of hours, then get up and go to work and still arrive earlier than everyone else. Leave Early and continue at home until late in the evening. This is what I do, it breaks up the day with forced breaks and the hours add up. (not that I am getting paid extra hours, it just gets more done)

Stretch, get up and walk around every hour or so and try to not slouch :)

Don't work late hours, seriously.

You are not productive after normal hours - work / life balance is more important then EVERY deadline.

You have only one life to live. Do you want to spend your last moments in, say, 50 years thinking "hm, I wish I got laid more often, but instead I wasted my life for DEADLINES!!"?

Seriously.
