What you're asking for isn't directly possible in Project. The best suggestion I have for you is to create a summary task around tasks 1-3, assign the resource to that and remove the assignment from tasks 1-3. This will force the first three tasks to be leveled as a group.

You lose some power of Project when doing this however: reporting actuals and so forth on individual tasks will be made harder to do.

It appears as if for what I need, this is actually a very good solution. Thanks!

Use following predecessor dependency:

Task 1 Predecessor: 2sf Task 2 Predecessor: 3sf Task 3 Predecessor: None

Hope this helps.

Set the Priorty Level of the Cdata Tasks to be higher than the priority level of the Controller Tasks.

For example, I set the Cdata tasks to have priority 900 and the controller tasks to have priortity 600.

When leveling, set the levelling order to Priority, Standard

Leveling will then ensure the Cdata tasks are performed first.
