We are making a site like twitter/facebook and it has an API, obviously. Which one has the best API implementation for developers so if we shared with others they could easily use it with their own skins? So far I like flow player, but jw has more features. I need your help to decide on which one to go for.

JW player or flow player?

I have had success with JW player in the past, however, with both of these, you are looking at pretty big licensing fees for using it in a corporate setting.

the Flow player does an excellent job at skinning.

Use the one that works and gets the project done on time. Beyond that you're not likely to get much useful feedback on this as they are each appropriate for different types of projects - and it looks like in this case either one will probably be just fine.

Pick the one that is easiest for you to work with.

I've used both, but I think Flow Player is the best alternative, especially if you have tengt to build plugins for it. It is quite easy to switch skins also, CSS style. It has integrated good support for jQuery. And I will also say that there are quite a bit to create new Stream Provider for it.

Both are good, but if you're looking for a simpler, free alternative, try BitGravity's free Flash player that's really simple to set up, plus it does allow for skinning, ad insertion, and more.

I had some experience with both.

JW Player is less buggy - that is for sure.

On the other hand - FlowPlayer has much. much better JavaScript API, which helps randomizing skins, behaviors etc.
