What is your favorite Oracle client?

First of all, I've seen this, but I want to ask it in a different way.

What Oracle client do you use?

I've been using SQL Developer but it has problems. Mainly in speed, which the poster in the question above seemed to like about SQL Developer. I'm looking for a new one, but I don't really know what's out there and is free. I like its interface, but I wish it didn't lock up unexpectedly.

The other ones I know about are

SQL*Plus
SQL Navigator
TOAD

Most notably, TOAD is not free.

I have TOAD. There are things I like about TOAD and things I don't like about TOAD. Likes: it's a more complete program and I can download gigabytes of data to xls. Dislikes: the interface. What a trashy interface. This is TOAD 7.0.4 (from 2004 or something), though.

squirrel works pretty good for free, if you are buying something then check out aqua data studio

Didn't even come close to working. It couldn't find the Oracle drivers that were supposedly installed with it. FAIL

You didnt add the ojdbc driver from oracle which you have to download separately. The plugin allows you to use the driver that oracle provides you. I have been using Golden from Benthic Software for years now and I love it. It's not free but it's pretty inexpensive at $40 US per seat. http://benthicsoftware.com/products.htm
