Is "XML SCRIPT" alive yet?

I heard about in ASP.NET AJAX in Action book.

According to http://www.xmlscript.org/index.html, XMLScript is obsolete, and is no longer being developed or supported.

New projects should use XSLT instead.

This website mentions that someone should use XSLT instead. I wonder how XSLT will be used as declarative JavaScript in client as XML Script was promised to do?
