Hi, I need a library that is able to generate UML class diagrams for use over the web. Just images based on meta data would be fine, but if anybody knows of one that allows to draw over the web, would be even better.
There is GraphViz - it is also able to spit out graphs which are HTML-Based via images and imagemaps.
I'd say that using/adapting one that support the use of textual notations/languages to describe UML models (and automatically display the corresponding graphical UML diagram) could solve your problem. List of tools: http://modeling-languages.com/content/uml-tools#textual
You did search SourceForge and FreshMeat, didn't you? This is the sort of thing that's likely to have a dozen or more projects on SourceForge.
See http://www.reversejava.com for a dynamic reverse engineering application which generates UML Sequence diagram and view of Participating Class diagram from any Java Application at runtime All you have to do is just run your application and sit back. Reverse Java runs in background tracing all the activities happening inside your application and creates UML diagram for you.
You also have options for, excluding packages, editing the Sequence diagram and exporting the diagrams as PDF or Image.
And its not expensive !
