Hi,

I would like to know what constitutes a typical storage domain background.

Let's say a person(C,C++ Programmer) is working for the past 3-4 years in backup/replication/storage products.

What all is he expected to know?

Regards, kohler

A:

It'll depend on lots of things - for example if 3-4 years spent working at a Windows replication software house probably wouldn't give a lot of experience for other storage domains (e.g. RAID, FCP)

On the other hand I'd expect someone with 3-4 years of experience working with high-quality enterprise class software to be able to quite trainable to work on some other high-quality enterprise offering.
