I refer to this question every once in a while http://stackoverflow.com/questions/59791/free-online-private-svn-repositories and now i want to do the same for .NET hosting.

There are lots of free but limited php hosting. I dont like to use php and sometimes i may write a quick app for friend. I may want a quick host for myself or friends take the code and manage/tweak it themselves.

What site do you guys know of and have tried? Please comment on any pros and cons?

-edit- i looked through 2 pages of google and didnt find one that supported .NET. And the two that did require you to write a desc so admins can decide if they want to host or not.

Were you able to upload and run ASP.NET MVC 2? from 2010? It took me a bit to change the config files for ASP.NET using msvs 2008 but i could not figure out how to run MVC 2

I use http://www.station5.net, not free but very inexpensive.

Did a quick Google today (2009-12-26) (google search) and it came up with The Developer Free Hosting Pakage. I have not used them.

It comes with IIS 6, ASP.NET and .NET 3.0, plus other things. There are limitations, like traffic limit and file size limit (reminiscent of geocities...) etc.. I'm sure there are others in the results, but this has a friendly look to it.

How on earth did you find that page? I tried navigating to that page from their homepage (which the google link points to) and clicked everywhere (knowing that page exist since you linked me) and i could NOT navigate there.

A link was there on the front page when I found it yesterday. I think I must have gone through this page: http://www.411asp.net/home/hosting/freehost Sorry for the confusion.

I use ReliableSite, also not free, but cheap and has been great.
