Looking for the Right Web Development Firm

Hello to all. I have a business plan to design & develop an online employment agency. A web site that brings together both Job Seekers and Employers in an interactive way, more then just your basic classified employment listings.

My two most important goals, are first to find a firm who has a truly experinced web developer with the latest programming technologies at use and my second is a firm who has a real detailed eye to design, organization and structure of the overall site. In my search, I have yet to find a company that has both. I have been researching for a month, day & night, and I have found many company's with great detail to design but No programming skills or previous web app development that really shows unique work. And then I have also found company's with very unique web app development under there palms, but absolutely no detail to design or user friendly interfaces.

To keep communication clear and smooth I prefer working with 1 company rather then 2 to develop my site. But it seems hard to find one company that has the best of both worlds. Am I not searching in the right places? or is this true in the web development world? Id like to take some suggestions on any firms who could provide both and have the folio to show it. Thank You

Finding such a company is not impossible, but it's certainly rare and you'll have to really dig to get to them. Plus any such company worth working with will keep presentation and logic separate anyway...so working with two companies is not necessarily going to be horrible. Instead of looking for companies that do both design and development, I would suggest looking for two companies that know how to separate presentation and logic.

Two separate companies will be easier to find, and you'll get to evaluate them based on criteria other than 'do you do both development and design'.
