How to customize Netbeans ?

I wonder if I can associate a task with a button defined by me in NetBeans 6.7/6.8 ? For instance can I add a button in Netbeans on the toolbar, and link it to a command, so that when I click this button, it will run this command, such as opening another program. I installed JD_GUI, it's an exe file, I want to have a button in NB so that when I click it, a command of opening JD_GUI with the current .class file will be exacuted, is it doable ?
