We have developed some applications which are installed with Windows Installer (MSI files). Some are installed for all users and others for the current user only.

Sometimes users experience a problem when attempting to upgrade or remove the applications which were installed for the current user which causes Windows to pop up a message saying the feature is on a network resource that is unavailable and which requires the user to browse to the MSI file for the version which they are attempting to remove or replace (the setup for the new version does not suffice) before they can continue. This does not always occur and never occurs on the setups which are configured for all users.

Can anyone shed any light on why this might be happening? Any assistance would be appreciated.
