We consume a number of external services (about a dozen but planning on adding more to that list) and would like to know if anyone has a good solution to managing the WSDLs, associated schemas and documentation that come with these services. We have tried a number of XML editors that have additional tools but none came in handy with all our requirements.

Of particular interest are: - ability to visualize elements in such a way that is clear whether they belong to the service's schema or are available via extension - ability to see the recurrence and usage of an element - ability to do visual diffs between the WSDLs (with possible benefit of a Change Request-like description) - repository like functionality for various versions ..

Any thoughts on this topic are welcome. Right now we use a combination of XMLSpy, word, excel and a directory structure but that combination is not very extensible or provide much "management" functionality for long schemas which extend other long schemas.

Thank you!
