i'm a student in computer science and been learning flex and actionscript 3.0 since 4 months.

i know its easy to program in mxml and actionscript 3.0 is pretty easy with bunch of classes.

When i try to code in c++,c in some contests, my algorithms go weak, no efficiency and i'm getting scared!!

since i'm a student, i've no experience in developing algorithms and tough program solving? I'd like to be a web developer, i've made a website in flex http://abhilash.co.nr

Should a web developer needs a strong fundamentals of difficult algorithm cracking, high end coding??

+1  A:

I wouldn't hire a developer based on his algorithm cracking skills - however - intelligent enough to ask smart questions and the ability to solve problems with some reasonable accuracy would be a desired attribute. You may become a solid algorithm solver in time - experience helps in everything.
