Sharepoint HelloWorld Feature

I just built a HelloWorld Feature, and deployed it. I am able to see the Feature to activate it. This feature is to just add a link to the Site Actions drop down menu, a code example from the book Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0. The link is not showing up after I activate the Feature, and obvious beginner mistakes that I probably made? I followed the directions in the book carefully, but you never know?
