I am pretty much a complete beginner when it comes to SEO, other than the basic concept of it. I am looking for suggestions on books for SEO implementation, and I don't have any books yet on it. So, any help or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

what you do for search engine optimization changes frequently, so I would be hesitant to suggest a book to you. Instead, spend some time on google and research there. There are a number of sites that can give you a basic understanding of what you can do for SEO. And even more that will give you a deep understanding.

Always a good place to start, WikiPedia has a good write up of what SEO is.

I've got a book that isn't just focused on SEO but it does cover it fairly well. There is also a lot of other useful information that may be of interest to you:

SEO is slippery - its rules, if there really are rules, change all the time so a book won't age well.

If you want a resource that updates with the times, check out http://www.seomoz.org/. The site has some free and some paid content (used to be a lot more free). Still, there's a lot of good information without a price tag, including blog entries like:

Good luck.

I'd recommend the book "Search" by John Battelle. You'll learn more than just the standard black-hat techniques. This is less specific tactical advice and more about historical context and the impact of "search" on culture, business, etc... It really changed the way I though about search and they types of recommendations I make to my clients.

If you are newbie i would suggest Avinash Kaushik books, http://www.amazon.com/Avinash-Kaushik/e/B001JSCHP8/ref=ntt%5Fdp%5Fepwbk%5F0
