Do you know about a web site that has videos/tutorials of one or more scenarios showing to brave girls/guys doing and explaining a technical SAP upgrade from 46C R/3 to ECC 6.0? I mean, screens showing the technical planning, preparation, upgrade and follow-up activities?

Of course, I do not pretend to repeat the same scenarios but to have a general and practical idea of this task.

Thanks!!

You've seen the Matrix, right? There is no spoon. Neither is there a "standard upgrade" (outside of the classroom environments). It all depends on how the system is customized, extended and embedded into the system landscapes. Take a look at the upgrade documentation available at http://service.sap.com/instguidesnw (S-user required) - there's a reason for the existence of a document called "Upgrade Master Guide" with about 50 pages that mostly tells you what to read depending on which components are in use.

vwegert, thanks for your directions, it made me rethink a bit the question with the hope of obtaining a satisfactory answer yet. Understanding the different possibilities for "technical" upgrades from 4.6C R/3 to ECC6 and the huge existing literature, I think a video/tutorial of specific cases are very helpful to have a better idea and give confidence to make the leap to success. My best regards.

I dont know about videos but http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn is always a good idea.

What i know is a bit of the developer tasks of an upgrade process. Which includes following Transactions:

SPDD / SPAU - You have to check your dictionary objects / enhanced programms against the newest version from SAP and apply the changes if necessary.

UCCHECK - You have to do some Unicode enabeling for the coding. There are some function moduls which are no longer supported. Also you have to modify file operations statements to use unicode or non-unicode encoding. There are some more statements but you will find these in the documentation.
