I'm a web designer, and not a programmer. I frequently use a javascript menu program that is about 10 years + old. It's called "Hiermenu" and I got it from the DHTML Dynamic drive site.

This particular javascript menuing program seems to interact poorly with Microsoft IE7 and IE8 browsers. I have had numerous complaints, that on mouseover of the menu items; the submenu items do not display correctly. The submenu items appear away from the menu, (mostly at the top of the display) out of range of the user to click them. As soon as you move the mouse to click them, they dispappear. This only happens in IE7 and IE8.

When this happens, I instruct the user to set their "Compatibility View" settings on for that particular web page. However, this fix is not obvious to all users. I end up posting a disclaimer/instructions on my client's web page. I'd rather not do this.

Is there a fix I can apply to the javascript or .js file, that will stop this from happening? If not, is there another way to eliminate this problem, and/or make it transparent to the user?

Thank you for your help, Rick White www.robotics1.com
