Any idea when MySQL 6.0 Release Date might be?

Nothing specific, more like "second half of 2010" works.

MySQL 5 is plenty stable, and when it comes to actual deployments, stability rather than state-of-the-art is the most important.

To answer your question, though, MySQL has had several different branches/forks (e.g. MariaDB).... and, in fact, there was a time when an official download of MySQL 6.0 was available... however, I believe it was discontinued in favor of the MySQL 5.1 line, so don't count on 6.0 any time soon.

Since the buyout of Sun by Oracle, itlooks like the MYSQL project as a whole has been suffering, that is about at the same time that download for the MySQL 6.0 version have disapeared from the website! Very sad...
