I'm a reasonably-experienced Flash developer, now needing to use Captivate. In order to emulate some software functionality in an exercise, I need to create a combobox control (what Captivate calls a "widget" and Flash calls a "component"). The combobox that ships with Captivate is very different in appearance from the one I need to impersonate, and is not sufficiently customizable--in particular, I can't find a way to make the actual dropdown list wider and remove the gray outline around each selection. I was able to customize the Flash combobox component to my needs in maybe three minutes.

So, can anyone point me toward either a more-customizable free combobox widget for Captivate, or a tutorial/article on creating a Captivate widget, with emphasis on exposing the user's selection as a Captivate variable for the Captivate movie's scripting?

Thank you.
