Free Windows based .EMF editor?

Does anybody have any first hand experience using a free windows based graphics editor that can handle EMF files?

I'm not sure if it's the ideal choice for EMF files, but I've had very good experiences with the open source Inkscape. (Its native format is SVG, but it can import and export EMF).
