How to stop Facebook from refreshing iframe content every second?

Question

My very simple Facebook app (http://apps.facebook.com/gophoto_fb/) is loading in a canvas, and the entire app is then hosted on my real site (gophoto.com). All of the links within it take you around the real site (gophoto.com).

For some strange reason (and only on IE8, not Chrome/Firefox), if you stay on that page, Facebook will be reloading the iframe content EVERY SECOND. This gives the users a "blip" as it refreshes the page, and gives my server unnecessary load, and pollutes metrics on usage.

I've scoured the ENTIRE intertubes for solutions to no avail. You are my only hope.
